Other Points you must take into account during a fight
Spell and Weapon Range (RA)
The range (RA) indicates the distance within which you can hit an opponent in a fight. It is calculated in squares. Obstacles reduce your range if they are higher than the character casting the spell or attacking. For example, a tree would reduce the spell or weapon range whereas a hedge or a fence wouldn’t.
Energy Points (EP)
When you lose a fight you go back to your last saved position (a Zaap for example). Your character will have lost his entire HPs and a few EP. If you didn’t save a position, your character will go back to Astrub.
May the cleverness be with you! You gain EPs back when you disconnect your character in a tavern.
Death
When you lose a fight and your energy goes down to zero, you become a ghost. If you want to go back to life and get a few EP, you must go see a Phoenix.
(When a player enters the ghost world, Phoenixes he can go to are being indicated on the general map with little red flag.) If this happens to you, you'll be able to choose whether you want to be resuscitated by a priest or look for the closest Phoenix.
Vitality
Vitality is associated to HPs. You need to regularly increase it with the characteristic you’ll have chosen. Please note that you’ll need a lot of vitality if your character is a Sacrier. The latter needs a lot of vitality to be played properly.
Wisdom
It’s very useful but also very expensive. Instead of investing characteristic points, develop it thanks to scrolls quests.
May the cleverness be with you! Get the handbook 'How to Be a Perfect Mercenary in Astrub', it complements this book. For this, you just need to find Nowa the Pandawa.
At the very beginning of the progression, gears are important. For instance, you can wear the Adventurer gear as from level 1. Gears give you bonuses on top of the characteristics of each element. Then, choose a type of equipment that will increase the characteristic of your character as well as its vitality. Regarding equipment, the ultimate goal is to get many types of equipment adapted to each situation you may have to face:
Damage for the PvP mode (player vs. player) and quests
Damage/Wisdom to go venture in the World
Chance/Prospecting to go hunt creatures
