Damage Calculations for Maple Story v0.01
pre-v0.24 patch
last modified: 02/15/2004
Introduction:
All information here is translated from: http://maplestory.netgamers.jp/,
Since the site i got the information from is japanese, i cannot give any
guarentees as to whether the calculations are accurate for GMS.
All Classes:
One Handed Sword: [((STR*4.0) + DEX) / 100] * Weapon Atk
One Handed Axe and Blunt: [((STR*4.4) + DEX) / 100] * Weapon Atk
Two Handed Sword: [((STR*4.6) + DEX) / 100] * Weapon Atk
Two Handed Axe and Blunt: [((STR*4.8) + DEX) / 100] * Weapon Atk
Spears and Polearms: [((STR*5.0) + DEX) / 100] * Weapon Atk
Non-Thieves:
Dagger: [((STR*4.0) + DEX) / 100] * Weapon Atk
Thieves:
Dagger and Thrown: [((LUK*3.6) + STR + DEX) / 100] * Weapon Atk
Archer:
Bow: [((DEX*3.4) + STR) / 100] * Weapon Atk
Crossbow: [((DEX*3.6) + STR) / 100] * Weapon Atk
Mages:
Any Weapon: {[(MAG*0.8) + (LUK/4)]/25} * Spell m.atk
*note 1:
you might be wondering why the mage formula is so weird. that's because
it's not on that site. it's actually from this chinese site where their
calculations are all different. yes, i'm aware that i can just multiply
everything by 4 and get the same result, but i don't feel like it.
*note 2:
for mages, MAG is the sum of your wand's m.atk and your int. so having a
wand that's 10 m.atk less than another one just means that you're 2 levels
behind.
*note 3:
Mages' Spell M.ATK is defined in your skill. For example, max magic claw has 40
and max e. bolt has 55. no, Magic Claw does not have 80 m.atk, it has two hits
of 40. it'll make a difference when you're fighting higher level monsters with
m. def.
now, the calculations (some of you) have been waiting for: min damage.
All Classes:
One Handed Sword: [((STR*0.9*4.0*mastery)+ DEX) / 100] * Weapon Atk
One Handed Axe and Blunt: [((STR*0.9*3.2*mastery)+ DEX) / 100] * Weapon Atk
Two Handed Sword: [((STR*0.9*4.6*mastery)+ DEX) / 100] * Weapon Atk
Two Handed Axe and Blunt: [((STR*0.9*3.4*mastery)+ DEX) / 100] * Weapon Atk
Spears and Polearms: [((STR*0.9*3.0*mastery)+ DEX) / 100] * Weapon Atk
Non-Thieves:
Dagger:¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@¡@ [((STR*0.9*4.0*mastery)+ DEX) / 100] * Weapon Atk
Thieves:
Dagger and Thrown: [((LUK*0.9*3.6*mastery)+ DEX) / 100] * Weapon Atk
Archer:
Bow: [((STR*0.9*3.4*mastery)+ DEX) / 100] * Weapon Atk
Crossbow: [((STR*0.9*3.6*mastery)+ DEX) / 100] * Weapon Atk
Mages:
Any Weapon: {[(MAG*0.8) + (LUK/4)]/25} * Spell m.atk * mastery
*note 0: mastery in this case is the decimal representation of the value.
60% = 0.6
*note 1: the mages' min damage is only speculation on my part. they don't
have it exactly on the website, but it sounds about right.
*note 2: oops, i made mistake on thieves min damage. thanks to the sharp eyed people who found out.
